Saint Patrick’s Day is a day of cultural and religious celebration.  It is celebrated annually on March 17, to mark the death date of the most commonly-recognized patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. It’s a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland. It’s become a popular holiday in the US.  People wear green; otherwise they are prepared to get pinched.
