Pizza & Limos?

One of the most frequent questions we get at 800 Limo Ride is “How many people can fit in a limo?”. This is a rather loaded question. It’s akin to asking your local pizza parlor “How many slices are in your pizza”? Without knowing the SIZE of said pizza, the number of slices is hardly relevant. If they offer a 16 inch pizza, whether it’s cut into 10 slices or 52, it’s the same amount of food. Same with a limousine; the number of passengers depends on which limo you are asking about, and the size and configuration of that limo.

So, when you call a limousine service, the best course of action is to simply tell them “I need a limo for “X number of people”, followed by the simple question “What are my options?”. This will get the ball rolling, and the representative on the phone would then be able to go over the various vehicle types, configurations and capacities.

They may ask if you prefer a traditional ‘sedan-based’ limousine, such as the Chrysler 300 or Lincoln Town Car, a cross-over limousine, such as the Lincoln MKT, an SUV limousine, such as the Cadillac Escalade (shown above), or the Hummer H2. Depending on the fleet of the service, you may also be offered a van-based limo like the Mercedes Luxury Coach, or a limousine based on a bus platform, like the Limo / Party bus.

Some of the choices offer the ability to stand up, some offer toilets, all offer luxury seating, bar, fiber optic lighting and high end digital entertainment systems. Your choice at this point is based on your personal preferences, and/or the recommendations of the service provider.

Hopefully using these tips, and taking the time to do a little research on the fleet(s) of the services you are considering, you will be able to come to the most informed decision possible, and snag the perfect limo for your event. And maybe on the way you can ask the chauffeur to pull over for some pizza. Whether that’s a slice or a whole pie… that’s up to you! But you may want to offer your driver some, as that’s just rude to fill a car with the smell of pizza and keep it all to yourself!

Valentine’s Day Limo

Valentine’s Day is near, and LOVE is in the air…  Some people say say love makes the world go round, but we feel it’s more what makes life worthwhile.  Regardless, Valentine’s Day is the day we celebrate the one special love in our lives.

Valentines Day 01

With that in mind, how about making this Valentine’s Day the most memorable yet.  Booking a stretch limousine like the Lincoln Town Car or Chrysler 300.  If desired, it can be stocked with roses, champagne and chocolates makes for an unforgettable evening.  Arrange to have a special note from you in the limousine prior to its arrival.  Maybe even include a custom CD with your special someone’s favorite music.

Lincoln Town Car limo 01

If you think your sweetheart may fancy something a bit more exotic, treat him or her to a super stretch SUV limo like the Cadillac Escalade or Hummer H2.  That opens up the possibility of additional couples / friends joining you, which lowers the cost per person while multiplying the fun.  The more the merrier!

Valentines Day Couple

Whatever limousine you choose, rest assured that your sweetie will be impressed by your thoughtful and unique idea.  Enjoy a glass of wine or other adult beverage, without worry about driving under the influence.  Head to dinner, cruise around town, whatever you like.  It’s your night, your limo, and there’s no better way to spend time together on this special day.

New Year’s Eve Done Right!

As we write this, New Year’s Eve is just a few days away.  And if you’re like most of us, you have a party to attend that night.  And of course, this is a night all about celebrating, which typically means having an adult beverage or two.  And with so many folks out partying and enjoying the evening’s festivities – and likely just as many sobriety check points – the last thing you want to do is get behind the wheel.

New Year's Eve 07

And we know you have many options for transportation that night.  Perhaps one party goer has opted for the roll of designated driver.  If so, you’re good to go.  Or maybe you’re thinking taxi or amateur car service?  That may be a problem, as this is one of the busiest nights of the year for everyone in the transportation business, and the last thing you want to be doing is standing around waiting for your ride when the clock is about to strike 12!

And if you’ve got a large group of friends, it gets even trickier, with multiple cars and drivers.  You’re most certainly not going to arrive together, and we don’t mean by just a few minutes.  Half of your group could be left stranded because their car isn’t available yet, while your is.  It’s not the most enjoyable way to spend what’s supposed to be a night with friends and family.

New Year's Eve 02

If you really want to get the party going, and keep it all together, you need something better than these options.  you need a stretch limo, or possibly a party bus, depending on the number of revelers in your group.  The benefits are many… everyone rides together.  The vehicle is booked in advance so you know it will be there for you, on time, at every stop on the way.  And most importantly, it will be there at the end of the night when it’s time to head home.

No one has to be the designated driver, everyone can indulge in some drinks – heck, even start the party on the way to the party in the limo itself.  You’ll have the same professional chauffeur the whole night.  Leave items in the car if you like.  There won’t be any fumbling with a phone app trying to find a ride, no worries about navigating or parking.  And no concerns about driving impaired or getting a DUI at one of the many check points.  It’s the ideal way to bring in New Year’s Day.

Happy New Year, and thanks for reading!

Dinner and a Movie – Enhanced!

So the weekend has rolled around, and it’s time to catch a movie with your sweetie.  There are just a few issues to sort out first… for the movie, she want a romantic comedy, you want an action thriller.  For dinner, she wants Italian, you want a steak.  We can’t really help you with those things, but what we can do is help you get there once you’ve decided.

OC restaurant 1

Allow us to explain…  Let’s say you drive yourselves.  If the restaurant is near the movie theater, perhaps you can park in one place for the entire night.  If that’s not the case, you’ll have to allow extra time to find a parking space for both places.  Another more pressing concern is, you’re probably going to have a few drinks at the restaurant, and quite possibly at the theater too, so one of you will need to be the designated driver.

designated driver

Now of course there’s always the option of a taxi, or one of those unregulated “phone app car services”.  Sure. they’re cheaper, but you never know when they’ll show up, or the skill of the driver, so you may miss your dinner reservation, or the movie if it’s a busy night for them.  But with a top of the line luxury limousine, driven by a professional chauffeur, these aren’t concerns.

Sprinter_02

Your night will start with a pickup at your home, then a relaxing ride to the restaurant you and the Mrs. have managed to agree upon.  No concerns about traffic, navigation or parking.  And when dinner is over, that same limo and driver will whisk you off to the theater.  Leave your restaurant “doggie bags” in the car, maybe that extra coat you brought, and enjoy your movie.  And when the end credits rolls, that same limo will be waiting for you outside.  No searching for your car in the parking lot (or waiting for that “amateur car service” to show up.  Just a simple, easy elegant night out.
